Who is James?

I’ve spent about 20 years in marketing and comms, mostly leading teams, navigating change, and figuring out why humans do the things they do. Eventually I realised the bit I loved most wasn’t the campaigns — it was helping people feel clearer, braver, and more themselves. So I learnt to be coach, where I get to do that every day.
I’m big on creating a conversation where people can say the thing they actually mean, and not feel like they’re being dragged through some heavy journey. I’m supportive, I’ll challenge you, and yes — I’ll probably make you laugh at least once in the journey.
Outside work, my boyfriend, family, and mates are We’re usually travelling, eating our way through East London, at a concert, musical or art gallery.
Growing up wasn’t always the easiest — I didn’t always feel like I fited in — but figuring out how to embrace who I am is a big part of why I care so much about helping LGBTQ+ people lead with confidence.
When I need to reset, I head to my allotment in East London. Nothing sorts your head out like growing veg and avoiding slugs. And I’m always picking up random hobbies — I recently taught myself to sew, so now I’m making quilts and soft furnishings.
