Maybe you’re feeling stuck, ready for a change or wondering whether it’s time for your next move.

For LGBTQ+ professionals, working out what’s next can come with extra questions around confidence, belonging and feeling like you can be yourself at work.

This free, supportive workshop will help you step back, explore what matters to you and get clearer on what you actually want from your career.

What you'll leave with

  • Clarity on the direction you want your career to take

  • A better understanding of your strengths and what you bring to the table

  • Greater awareness of what might be holding you back

  • One practical next step to move forward with more confidence

  • A one-page "What's Next?" worksheet to keep the momentum going

  • A supportive space to reflect and connect with other LGBTQ+ leaders

How it works

  • Welcome: Meet your host and the group, and set the tone for a supportive, LGBTQ+-affirming space.

  • Guided reflection: Step back and explore what matters most to you, what you're good at and what you want more or less of.

  • Live coaching : Watch a short coaching conversation with a volunteer, so you can see what coaching feels like.

  • Small-group discussion: Share experiences, hear fresh perspectives and realise you're not the only one feeling this way.

  • Close and what's next: Final reflections and your one next step to take. Plus how to keep going if you'd like support.

I'm James. I spent about 20 years in marketing and comms, leading teams and navigating change. I realised the part I loved most wasn't the campaigns. It was helping people feel clearer, braver and more themselves. So I trained as a coach.

I'm big on creating a conversation where people can say the thing they actually mean, without feeling dragged through some heavy journey. I'm supportive, I'll challenge you, and yes, I'll probably make you laugh at least once.

What people say

"James was friendly and ensured all participants felt safe sharing personal experiences. The session was well-organised, interactive and reflective. It helped me turn my skills into a more authentic, empathetic leadership style."

"It's the first time I've ever thought about my leadership through the lens of my queerness — it opened up strengths I didn't even realise I had."

"The session was a great opportunity to reflect on our strengths as LGBTQ+ leaders and what may have held us back in the past. James creates a comfortable and safe space to share experiences as well as his own journey."

Will the session be recorded?

Yes, however we ask people not to share personal information.

Is it confidential?

Yes. We agree ground rules at the start, including that what's shared stays in the session.

Do I need my camera on?

It's up to you. Cameras on helps connection, but you're welcome to join with it off.

Do I need to be in a senior role?

No. Leaders, managers, aspiring leaders and people between roles are all welcome.

Who is it for within the LGBTQ+ community?

Everyone, including trans and non-binary people.

Do I have to take part in the live coaching?

No. Volunteering is optional, and watching is just as valuable.

Is it really free?

 Yes. No cost, no obligation.

What happens afterwards?

You'll get a follow-up email with a summary, your worksheet and a link to book a free 30-minute call with me if you'd like support taking your next step. Totally optional.

What if I can't make it?

Let me know and we'll try to move you to another date.
